#Grandkitties Join Our Feline Family--#Cats This Week by Karen Rose Smith

In last week's blog, I introduced Freya and Zander, the newest members of our feline family.  I'm also excited to share that we have new furry friends in our extended feline family. This week's photos feature Danbi and Mina, our grandkitties!

Our son, who lives half way across the country, lost his sixteen-year-old soulmate cat in May. His vet had just taken into foster care six new motherless kittens from two different litters. They were only about five weeks old at the time. When we visited our son in June, we made a trip to the vet's home to see the kittens and he decided to adopt two of them--a black and white tuxedo and a Japanese calico. He picked them up a few weeks later and we have been receiving weekly photos. He already had a senior cat, but the integration when really well.  Short visits with the kittens have extended into much longer sessions. They play and nap together. We plan to visit over the holidays and are excited to see how they have grown since we first saw them in June.

Meet Danbi and Mina.

I am indeed grateful for the bundles of smiles provided by our new family members. And I am also happy that our love of felines has been passed down to our son. I can't wait for the photos when our grandkitties discover our son's multiple aquariums and the many ways they can get into trouble exploring them!

Caprice De Luca Home Staging Mystery #7

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, especially now that Caprice De Luca has wrapped up her holiday-themed staging gig at a stunning historic home in downtown Kismet, Pennsylvania. Behind all the red ribbon and glowing string lights, homeowners Chris and Sara Merriweather have it all. But Chris, a Vietnam vet who plays Santa every year at the community park, has been displaying strange behavior after a recent trip to Washington, D.C.

The joy of the season vanishes entirely when Chris is found murdered on Santa Lane, leaving behind his loyal malamute and lots of unfinished business. As Caprice uncovers hidden secrets in Santa's workshop, the pressure is on to catch the candy cane-wielding culprit--before she's next on a killer's deadly wish list . . .

USA TODAY Bestselling Author Karen Rose Smith is an only child who delved into books at an early age. She learned about kindred spirits from Anne of Green Gables, solved mysteries with Nancy Drew and wished she could have been the rider on The Black Stallion. Yet even though she escaped often into story worlds, she had many aunts, uncles and cousins around her on weekends. Her sense of family and relationships began there. Maybe that's why families are a strong theme in her novels, whether mysteries or romances. This award-winning and bestselling author will have her 100th novel released in 2018.  At present she is working on two mystery series for Kensington Books--Caprice De Luca Home Staging cozies and Daisy's Tea Garden mysteries. From time to time, she also writes romance for Harlequin Special Edition.

Readers often ask her about her pastimes. She has herb, flowers and vegetable gardens that help her relax. In the winter, she cooks and does watercolor paintings rather than gardens.  And year round she spends most of her time with her husband, as well as her four rescued cats who are her constant companions. They chase rainbows from sun catchers, reminding her life isn't all about work, awards and bestseller lists. Everyone needs that rainbow to chase.

Karen looks forward to interacting with readers. They can find her at the links below.
