#Feline Friday--Karen Rose Smith's #Cats This Week 5/29

This was a sleepy holiday week with the Smith felines.  It seems they are getting into the practice of passing the hazy days of summer in their favorite resting spots.  Miss Paddington, always curious to explore a new space, claimed the largest variety of spots throughout the house, usually close to Zoie or Halo.

London capturing some afternoon sun on the
back of the living room recliner.

Zoie Joy chooses her favorite
spot--next to my pillow on the bed--
for her a morning nap.
Zoie surveys the bedroom for Paddington and Halo
before settling in for her afternoon nap.

Paddington keeps my desk chair warm.

Paddy watches birds and butterflies on the patio.

Paddy rests under a "blanket tent" in my office.
Paddy's new "favorite" spot--under
the towel rack in the bathroom.

Halo's special resting spot is at the foot of the bed.
It's even better when Paddy joins her for a mid-day nap.

Zoie, Paddy and Halo confer on their
resting spots for the day.

Arthur observes Sunny in the
shade of the lilacs.

Sunnybud has breakfast on the patio before finding
a shady spot from the warm afternoon sun.

Oops!  That's not a feline, but all four-legged
creatures are welcome on the Smith property,
even if they nibble on my zinnias!

A rose from the Smith garden for all cat lovers
who provide much appreciated care for their
furry friends--whether indoors or outside.

Until next week...

Karen

USA TODAY Bestselling Author Karen Rose Smith is an only child who delved into books at an early age. She learned about kindred spirits from Anne of Green Gables, solved mysteries with Nancy Drew and wished she could have been the rider on The Black Stallion. Yet even though she escaped often into story worlds, she had many aunts, uncles and cousins around her on weekends. Her sense of family and relationships began there. Maybe that's why families are a strong theme in her novels, whether mysteries or romances. Her 87th novel will be released in 2015.

Readers often ask her about her pastimes. She has herb, flowers and vegetable gardens that help her relax. In the winter, she cooks rather than gardens. And year round she spends most of her time with her husband, as well as her four rescued cats who are her constant companions. They chase rainbows from sun catchers, reminding her life isn't all about work, awards and bestseller lists. Everyone needs that rainbow to chase.

Karen looks forward to interacting with readers. They can find her at the links below.
