Meet Paisley Kirkpatrick, #Historical #Romance Author, #CHRISTMAS SURPRISE via Karen Rose Smith

Paisley Kirkpatrick has been a dear friend for many years. I've witnessed her journey as a writer and a woman. CHRISTMAS SURPRISE,  the first historical novel in her NORTHWOODS series, is a very special, emotional story and in her message, she explains why. Paisley, I'm so glad the joy of Christmas is touching you once more.

From Paisley...

Bio PicWhen my editor asked for Christmas themed books, I wasn't sure I could write one. After we lost our daughter, Kellie, thirteen years ago to cancer, we no longer celebrated the holiday. Our spirit died with her. The story came from my heart and as I wrote I could feel my heart healing and my spirit returning. A Christmas tree stands proudly in our living room, the decorations grace our house, and we have found the joy of Christmas again.

All the joy of the season to you and yours.

Paisley

Can a family torn apart by grief find comfort and forgiveness in the wisdom of a stranger's words?

Widower Hank Hughes has had it with his headstrong daughter. She'll be married by Christmas come hell or high water.

Nobody, including her father, would force Caroline Hughes to marry a man she doesn't love. She plans to choose her own husband. Her hopes are set on Tam MacGregor, but would he sever his family ties to stay with her?

Tam MacGregor and his brother came to the Northwoods to deliver horses and a new governess. Neither one of them expected to get caught up in a world of smuggling and even more dangerous, match making.

Caught between her own stubborn pride and the love she prays is enough to keep Tam in Wisconsin, Caroline is determined to have her Christmas wedding on her own terms.

USA TODAY Bestselling Author Karen Rose Smith is an only child who delved into books at an early age. She learned about kindred spirits from Anne of Green Gables, solved mysteries with Nancy Drew and wished she could have been the rider on The Black Stallion. Yet even though she escaped often into story worlds, she had many aunts, uncles and cousins around her on weekends. Her sense of family and relationships began there. Maybe that's why families are a strong theme in her novels, whether mysteries or romances. Her 91st novel will be released in 2016.

Readers often ask her about her pastimes. She has herb, flowers and vegetable gardens that help her relax. In the winter, she cooks rather than gardens.  And year round she spends most of her time with her husband, as well as her four rescued cats who are her constant companions. They chase rainbows from sun catchers, reminding her life isn't all about work, awards and bestseller lists. Everyone needs that rainbow to chase.

Karen looks forward to interacting with readers. They can find her at the links below.
