#FelineFriday Feature--Karen Rose Smith's #Cats This Week

Since I take lots of photos of our cats and post them on Facebook, it seemed to be a good idea to post a weekly blog about the cats around our house. I have four inside rescued cats.  London, our gray tabby, is our oldest at fourteen.  We rescued her from a friend's farm litter.

We found Zoie Joy who is three in a bush in our backyard when she was around six weeks old, dehydrated, starved and scared. She's fourteen pounds now and my sweet cuddle buddy.

Last summer, we adopted pregnant Halo who also found a home in our yard.  We kept her and her first born kitten Miss Paddington while finding Paddy's siblings forever, loving homes.

We also have yard visitors from time to time who stay in the cat shelters.  Two of them are regulars.  We've dubbed the yellow tabby, Sunnybud and the grey and white huge fellow, Arthur. Throughout the winter, Sunny visited us both morning and evening and still usually does. He's afraid and spooked by enclosed spaces (we tried closing our basement door and he freaked). He's a sweetie but scares easily and doesn't stay.

Here are some other photos from this week!

Zoie and Paddy are best buddies.  They play together at least twice a day, running, jumping and altogether moving around the rugs! I hope you enjoy this new feature on my blog.

In my Caprice De Luca Home Staging mystery series, my sleuth Caprice takes in stray cats and dogs and finds them forever loving homes!

USA TODAY Bestselling Author Karen Rose Smith is an only child who delved into books at an early age. She learned about kindred spirits from Anne of Green Gables, solved mysteries with Nancy Drew and wished she could have been the rider on The Black Stallion. Yet even though she escaped often into story worlds, she had many aunts, uncles and cousins around her on weekends. Her sense of family and relationships began there. Maybe that's why families are a strong theme in her novels, whether mysteries or romances. Her 87th novel will be released in 2015.

Readers often ask her about her pastimes. She has herb, flowers and vegetable gardens that help her relax. In the winter, she cooks rather than gardens. And year round she spends most of her time with her husband, as well as her four rescued cats who are her constant companions. They chase rainbows from sun catchers, reminding her life isn't all about work, awards and bestseller lists. Everyone needs that rainbow to chase.

Karen looks forward to interacting with readers. They can find her at the links below.

  2. I love it! (Of course, you know how I am with cats, especially rescues.) I think all your guys have such sweet faces, and I love your new author pic with Paddy.
