There were two kittens curled up together sleeping. One solid black and the other Russian Blue (brothers). When I told the lady I wouldn't separate the black one from his brother, she waived the fee for my grey boy. They romp together all day and I just love them plus my two other rescues: KJ (from NOLA after Katrina) and Grace.Sandihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05721505023735937378noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6861176667101359582.post-58165931460062790222013-11-15T03:10:17.167-08:002013-11-15T03:10:17.167-08:00When my black cat Sammy died, we went to the adopt...When my black cat Sammy died, we went to the adoption fair at Petco. There was a totally black kitten curled up with a Russian Blue, his brother. When I told the lady that I wouldn't adopt the black one because it would split them up, she waived the adoption fee for my grey boy. Now I have two boisterous guys, Beau and Jack. They race through the house and play and sometimes fight. I love them! We opened all the cages in the kitty room and one set ran out to run and play on the cat trees. We went to sit across the room and after about ten minutes of thinking about our late cat Lucy, the brown and gray tabby brother and sister came over to stand in front of us. They said, "The audition is over. Take us home." We did and fourteen years ago Halloween, Boris and Natasha came to live at our house. I later found out St. Lucy was the patron saint of cats and vision. I like to think she brought them to us.
Best of luck on your new book!
Julee J. Out of six puppies, he was the one that wiggled right up to my husband and made friends. We had him for thirteen years.

Our current dog came from the local SPCA shelter. My husband was volunteering walking dogs and this one was extra enthusiastic with him. He's a yellow lab with golden eyes who is named Simba. But we stopped at an animal rescue place to look at the cats and went in to see this lovely calico. As soon as I walked in the door, however, this black kitten in the first cage me owed at me and stuck his paw out to me. Never one to resist, I touched his paw and he curled it around my finger, tugging it closer where he rubbed it along his jaw, purring loudly and talking to me. I looked at my cousin, but I was caught and she knew it! I told the woman to start the adoption process. I looked at Ninja and told him "you're coming home with us." Darned if he didn't nudge his sister, a pretty black and white kitten, towards me! He was still talking and I swear he was telling me to take her, too! No, I didn't, but it broke my heart to see them rub each other in leaving. Yes, you can tell, he definitely chose me!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09478699193512624145noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6861176667101359582.post-7635054485413279232013-11-13T20:49:30.193-08:002013-11-13T20:49:30.193-08:00I'd like to think we chose each other - all my...I'd like to think we chose each other - all my cats (and there have been quite a few) have been strays/ferals and 3 that were my daughter's. One special cat, Ollie, I nursed with a baby doll bottle after his feral mother and he were covered in motor oil and she left him on my back porch (where she had originally had her litter). So I guess in that case the mother chose him for me :)catsladyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06375770995988927860noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6861176667101359582.post-31855496375362085802013-11-13T08:56:32.635-08:002013-11-13T08:56:32.635-08:00Allergic to cats but have pictures and magnets and...Allergic to cats but have pictures and magnets and pen and other items of them around the houseAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6861176667101359582.post-54771384602272681862013-11-13T06:16:54.766-08:002013-11-13T06:16:54.766-08:00Actually we don't have a cat,we have a dog and...Actually we don't have a cat,we have a dog and we choose her. I opened it, he scrambled up and over me to cuddle up to my ex-husband...the one who had to be convinced...and made me an hour late for work. My boss was both amused and forgiving when I explained that I'd gotten a cup of coffee and a kitten at the drive-thru and had to take one home. Guess the "kitty sucker" sign is over me always.
